HA Frickety HAAAA!

I called this morning and confirmed my spot as incoming graduate assistant for the fall. As much as I loathe the 'brary these days I didn't want to hop around yelling, "Two weeks notice! Two fuckin' weeks notice, bitches!!" until I was positive they hadn't skeerewed up at the university. Now that I have the all clear I will frolick up into the place today at 11 and air hump my way to Lazy Boss's office and pronounce my winding-downness. Did I mention I'm quitting a week early? I'M QUITTING A WEEK EARLY. This gives me more opportunity to go to NM if I still have the cash, zip over to Waco for a weekend, and generally be lazy and read myself into a coma before starting back to the grind of academia. My summer course will be finishing up around the time I'm finished at the 'brary, and that'll give me three glorious weeks to lay in bed and while away the hours in solitude and utter bliss surrounded by puppies and twinkie wrappers. I cannot WAIT to be a library patron and enjoy the wonderfulness of perusing the stacks without having to re-shelve the stragglers or kiss the asses of bored administrators with nothing to do but water flowers and repaint anything that'll sit still. Freeedom! Freeeedom! To the tune of George Michael's song of the same name.

  9. No more outraged midgets and retard readings. I wish I could quit my job. The day I quit Organized Living I was so happy, but this job sucks almost as bad and I'm going to have to get a part time job just to pay the bills.

  10. Thanks, R! I hope you I have a good rest of summer, too! I get all tingly thinking of the reading to be done and the swimming.

    Thanks Fence!

  11. Ago-goyummy,
As much as I hate to say it...I think I'll miss her as much as a car battery wired up to my nipples. ZzzZZZzz.

    Suzz,
I do not know. I may have to make a Friday morning appearance just to get my Norman orgy of love.

  12. Thank you, Corinna!!

    Denaroo,
I think I will scream for my mama, assume the fetal position, and suck my big toe in anguish if I ever have to do library work again. Actually...it's not the 'brary's fault...it's the dumbasses that work there. I'll probably go ahead and opt for PhD in English.

  13. Oh Amy...Oscar wouldn't know what to do without you. You'd break his lil heart.

    Evil,
They'll have to settle for one of the other library mavens. Alas, I hate to leave my post as hot library girl, but it must be done.

  14. Todd,
My life will feel much emptier without the midgets and the 'tards, but I think I'll adapt eventually.

If you're lookin' for a part-timer I have a pool boy position coming open.

  15. Andi, you're supposed to hire young, studly pool boys. Haven't you ever seen a porno?

  16. i just came across your blog this very morning and was surprised to find you in the very same situation I am. . ."two weeks notice! two fucking weeks notice, bitches!" yeah, that was me about a week ago, throwing up the key to my own retail shackles and moving on to a better place (IUB for my dual masters in library science and info. science). it's a relief to know there's someone out there who knows exactly what you're going though! post on...

Congrats on moving past the retail hellhole! I'm counting down until my last day, and every day is a celebration. *happy dance*
