I'm sporting some new bling for this week's HNT. The girls and I had a wonderful night out and my new nose ring is the result of said good time.
We went out first for the most amazing dinner I've ever had in my life. Indian food at the Clay Pit in Addison. I didn't realize we were so close to my very favoritist tattoo and body piercing shop, CAT Tattoo, until I saw the sign. We had discussed, earlier in the evening, Brandy's trip to get a tat next weekend, and I mentioned my desire to possibly get a nose ring. If you've known me for more than an hour and a half you'll know I like piercings and have had my tongue and eyebrow pierced before. I think nose rings are cute, and it's been a good six years since I had a piercing, so I figured it was time. And it was only $25. If I don't like it, I've simply lost out on the amount of money it would take to get an oil change.
My first two piercings did not hurt. Tongue..nothin'. Eyebrow...nothing. This little bitch...hurt like a motherfucker. Not the actual needle through the nose, but getting the stud in. Holy shit. Made me tear up like a pansy on parade. But I survived and I love my new bling.
And, no, it doesn't hurt to blow my nose or sneeze. I've done both tonight several times.
Next up: red hair.

i miss my nose ring.. =( it looks great on u! my worst piercing was my belly button...ouuuuccchhh! i had my nose done 3 different times. HHNT =)

But the pain was so worth the look wasn't it? I am way too much a baby to ever do something like that.

Libra, I'm surprised your belly button was the worst! Ever had nipple piercings?? My friend in high school who got me into all this had his done and that one almost made him throw up.

Well, I'm not sure how my job is going to take it, but once this little bizzle is healed I can get a spacer and it won't be a problem. We'll see. Academics are nutty, so I don't think it'll matter. If it does, I'll go back to the art dept. Whaahahahha!

The pain was very worth it! That's one of the reasons I like piercings...makes me feel like a badass when everyone says, "Ohmagod, I never could've done that!" So, thanks for giving me my first fix of badassness for the day!

Oh my god. I love Indian food too the best. Anyeay back to the point, I got my nose pierced at 40 on a whim. i thought it would be like piercing my ears, la di da. I almost passed out, first from the needle, second from the ring going in. He said he wouldn't pierce with a stud since a ring is better for healing. So for a month I had this huge ring sticking out of my nose. Charming.

*sniff* I miss my nose ring SO BAD. I got mine pierced in Amsterdam. The piercing was the worst few seconds of pain in my whole life. Even compared to two tattoos, breastfeeding and child birth. I had to remove mine for my job. Yours looks gorgeous. Congrats!

ReplyDeleteawesome! That looks just like my nose ring! Once I caught my nose ring on Alex's hairy chest. that fucker hurt. I'm getting my eyebrow done soon (I hope). A friend of mine tried to pierce my tongue when I was 18 and it ripped. I have this big scar down the middle of tongue.

Tess, thanks a bunch! I had a barbell in my eyebrow when I got it pierced and my piercer wasn't happy about it, but I won. I just couldn't handle a ring to start. lol Good for you for whimming it!

Heather, at least you didn't have a tat of a worm around your belly button. A friend of mine had a worm before the pregnancy and a python afterwards.
