A polite request....

New posts below this one....

OK, I need you, gentle readers. In order to write a compendium of sexiness for next month's issue of Estella's Revenge I need your input. PLEASE.
Please leave a description of your favorite love scene from a movie. Title, summary, and why you love it!

  1. Hmmm...now I want to see In Her Shoes. A friend of mine said she didn't like it as much as the book, of course, what movie is better than the book? But she had kind of turned me off of it.

And I'll be thinking about this and get back too you. There are so many....

Are you going to do songs? Cause I can definitely think of some songs that can "light a furnace."

  2. PS: Is this like a sex issue? If it is, I'll steer the new pic that way. Ideas, ideas...

  3. If These Walls Could Talk 2

(Michelle Williams is a femme lesbian in the 1960s and she meets a butch biker chick played by Chloƫ Sevigny. They totally hook-up despite her lesbian roommates alienation of butch chloe.)

These scene is hot, hot, hot. It is passionate plenty of kissing and touching. And if I remember correctly we don't see too much graphically (like porn) it is tender and romantic while being totally sexy.

  4. Heatheroo, it's not as good as the book (almost impossible) but it is still very good. The folks they cast for the "retirement community for active seniors" are HILARIOUS.

Can't wait to hear what lights your furnace (gonna be the most overused phrase on this blog).

It might be a sex issue. Hmmmm. Considering. I'll let you know in the next day or two. And I'll be sending out the request for features and reviews and such.

  5. Wow, Amanda! I didn't know Michelle Williams had ever done anything that risque! Good stuff!

  6. Is Brown Bunny acceptable? That's not really porn.

  7. One of the most seductive-without-really-showing-full-on-nudity sex scenes was in the recent movie Underworld 2. Very sexy!

I also really thought the sex scene between Jodi Foster's character and her lover in Juenet's film A Very Long Engagement was very wonderfully shot.

  8. But I'm a Cheerleader.

Natasha Lyonne plays a cheerleader Megan sent away to a "straight camp" for being ambiguously gay. Clea DuVull is Graham, an ultra cool chick who fully embraces being a lesbian, but is at the same camp because of her father.

The scene is the two of them running out to this small dollhouse shed used for solitary confinement, and making love for the first time. The lighting is candle soft, the music is so beautiful, and it's just sensual, innocent, and pure in both dialog and imaging. It makes you wish you were in love *sigh*

See it. It's a campy movie, but great nonetheless. (and the kid who played Rufio from Hook is in it)

  9. Carl,
Thanks for the input! And I TOTALLY agree. I went to see Underworld with a friend, and out panties spontaneously combusted during that love scene. Holy crap. I'm not familiar with the one in A Very Long Engagement, but I'll check it out. Jodi Foster is one of my favorite actresses.

Nicky, that sounds like a FANTASTIC scene!!! Thank you for the blurb!

  10. jodi foster isn't in a very long engagement. Its Audrey Tatou and its a french film. Perhaps he is thinking of a different film? :)

  11. For me it is a scene from Frank Capra’s “ It’s a Wonderful Life”. Yeah I know when you think of this film the last thing you think of is sex, but the scene where George Bailey (Jimmy Stewart) drops by Mary Hatch’s (Donna Reed) house and Mary’s current boyfriend of sorts and Georges good friend, (Sam Wainright, who is away in New York) phones her. Both George and Mary huddle around the phone, as Sam offers up a can not miss business deal that is going to make them all rich. While huddling around the phone you can feel the desire and passion of George and Mary. They marry later on in the movie, but for me, that scene defines the meaning of lust. Hell Capra even makes the can not miss business deal Sam was pushing a success. The same business deals both George and Mary passed up while pursuing passion! The film was made in1946 and to say that those times were a lot more conservative than the present would be a huge understatement.

  12. Amanda, IMDB said Foster is Elodie Gordes and Tatou plays Mathilde. I'll definitely have to watch it now because I love Tatou soooo much. Got hooked when I saw Amelie.

  13. Vampran,
That is an unlikely choice, but I love it!!! Thanks for bringing that one to my attention.

  15. Bring it on, Steph. Can't wait to hear what you'll come up with.

  16. *whining* No porn? *scoff* That really limits the scope of my choices for this sex assignment. Jeez. Are you sure you can't reconsider? :)

Since my memory isn't that great, I can only recall movies that I've seen recently and the best sex scene that was genuinely arousing was in Brokeback Mountain. I realize it's kind of odd for a woman to find two men sodomizing each other tenderly arousing but it was, probably cause of the lust factor: raw and uninhibited.

Let me know if you haven't seen the film and I'll write up the synopsis but I didn't want to duplicate incase you're very familiar with it.

  17. Jules,
You know, I really thought Brokeback was hot, too! I'm with you...the raw lust of it. And it was very tastefully done. They could've cheapened it up, but they didn't, and I love that.

  18. Is it to late? Can I use The Lover?

  19. Kalani,
It's not too late! I'm gonna leave this up top for several days. Wow me, girl!

  20. Theres not too many soft core scenes hanging about? I guess the part in Basic Instinct where he just comes home and rams his sweetie doggie style... just cuz its so animalistic?? :p I dont know!

  21. Linked the ezine. Sorry that I didn't do it before today!

  22. Johnny,
I was timing to see how long it took for someone to say Basic Instinct. Congrats on being our winner, and I'm surprised it didn't come sooner.

    Non,
No problem, girl! Thanks for the linkage! It's much appreciated!

  23. *Freak Flag Alert!*
"Bram Stoker's Dracula", multiple scenes. The fact that it's a period piece, i.e. romantic lighting, ornate scenery and costumes is usually enough for a sensual vibe, but the vampire/demon stuff is kinda sexy too. And Keanu Reeves being seduced by 3 bloodthirsty wenches (one of whom is Monica Bellucci, my personal painting muse) is totally hot.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Thanks, Nancie! And I don't think you're a freak! Sounds pretty hot to me! I love Keanu if he just wouldn't speak. EVER.

  25. I'm pleased to see Vampran mentioned It's a Wonderful Life, because the first thing that I thought about this topic, being an old-fashioned guy, is how movies portrayed the love/lust relationship before sex scenes became obligatory. What would a film like Strangers When We Meet with Kirk Douglas and Kim Novak be like today?

  26. Sorry this is so late but I really had to think about this. The love scene between Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek in "Desperado". I think for me, the whole mood is so hot ... with candles ... the guitar ... hot & sweaty which is what sex should be from time to time.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Quill,
I must say, I'm much more titilated by the implied sex scene myself. Call me old school.

    Cincy,
Thanks! I've heard from several people that the Desperado scene is top-shelf. Will have to check it out!
