I decided, on the spur of the moment, to try a new bloggy look. Lemme know whatcha think. It's still a work in progress: need to tweak some of the fonts on the sidebar and whatnot, but overall I like the feel. I'll live with it for a few days and see what I think.

Whoa! Quite a change! And embracing your latent political tendencies--I think you should keep it!
ReplyDeleteHa! Good point, Os! I thought it was kinda edgy and different, yet still sporting the red/black/white motif, which I shall never be willing to let go! Thanks for the opinions!
ReplyDeleteI like it!! I think of you as a bold person and this blog look is bold!

Wooooooo it looks gorgeous darling! Very very hawt! It looks very you! Keep it!
ReplyDeleteAnd how can you stand watching Rachael Ray? That woman crawls under my skin and stabs my nerves with a carving knife. Ick!
ReplyDeleteI like it too. As I said somewhere else and since I love to repeat myself: Rachael Ray hasn't been the same since Oprah bought her.
ReplyDeleteI really like the new look! I think you should keep it...
ReplyDeleteHeather, thanks!!!! I'm liking it more all the time, so I'll prolly keep it!
ReplyDeleteHeatheroo, thank you dahling! And Rachael Ray gets under my skin too. However, Paula Dean's annoyance generally crawls directly up my ass and does the annoying dance. I CAN'T STAND HER! Wanna hear about some real horror, on one of the holiday extravaganzas they put Rachael AND Paula together for a cooking segment. Holy shit! I almost passed out from the annoying vibes.
LOL, Dale! I think I have to agree with you. After Oprah bought, she got all pretty and fixed and glammy. Urrg. I liked her girly and dowdy.
Thanks, Kim! I think I will! :)
I love it! How do you do that banner business? I feel so incompetent.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Writing to you from our new coffee house with free wireless access; it's so cool. You'd love this place - esp. the live music!!!!
i like it!
ReplyDeleteAnd i have no opinion one way or the other on rachel ray or paula dean...haven't watched either of them but you have recently peaked my interest in the travel channel...
Nancy, I'm so jealous of the coffee house!!!! I have to go 30 miles for a decent non-Starbucks cup of coffee. There's a darling little coffee house in the little university town where I work. They don't have free wireless or live music, though! *drool*
ReplyDeleteAs for the banner, I actually stole this one from the site where I got my template (the name of which is in the very bottom left-hand corner of the page...the name slips my mind at the mo'). I was a web designer before I did the English teacher/grad student thing, so I learned a few tricks on Paint Shop Pro and Adobe Photoshop and replaced their text with my own. Paint Shop Pro is VERY user friendly and has a lot of tutorials online. You can even download a free trial version of their latest offering, Paint Shop Pro 9.
Courtney, I LOVE THE TRAVEL CHANNEL! I know you already know that, but it's sort of a gut reaction whenever someone mentions it. Another show to watch for is 5 Takes. It's 5 college student "travel journalists" who travel around and document their experiences. This latest season is 5 Asian students who travel the U.S. The first season I watched was a European version with trips through Spain, Greece, Germany and a bunch of other places. They only got $40 or $50 a day to live on which made the sleeping arrangements fun to watch from time to time....lots of interesting hostels and whatnot.
holy crap ... i like!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Soj!
ReplyDeleteVery cool Blog!
ReplyDeleteI love the food network, but Rachael Ray drives me nuts! Why does she have so scream EVERYTHING?!
But I always end up watching her for some reason.
Nice new look ... ummm, I didn't see my pic anywhere. What's wit that?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Moxy! Glad you stopped by! I always end up watching her, too, not matter how annoyed I get. It's like a black hole.
ReplyDeleteCincy, I'll get right on that!
Definitely a bold look and I like it! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Iliana! Glad ya like it!
ReplyDeleteAndi,
ReplyDeleteYou'll just have to visit Vicksburg and check out the coffee house, one day. It's totally terrific. Who'd have thought?
Paint Shop Pro 9. Okay, will check that out, thanks!
