Potter-mania! And a job interview!

Yep, you know what I'll be doing this weekend!

B. said we might go get me a copy at midnight. If not, I'll have it early in the morning and I'll be reading like a maniac. Gotta go finish up Half-Blood Prince right quick.

In other news, I got another interview! I'll be interviewing for a Senior Library Assistant position on the 30th. Full-time, full benefits, etc. I have no idea how much it pays, so I'm sure the decision will come down largely to money.

Gotta run, but I hope you all have a great weekend. I'll be back on Monday full of Potter and with some significantly meatier blog posts in tow.

  1. Yayyy for HARRY POTTER! God I can't wait for Saturday. I wonder if the mail man will have tons of people just waiting on their doorsteps for him? I know I want to. Instead I'll just keep watch out the window and when he leaves I'll pounce on the mailbox! Don't post any spoilers on Monday. I want to TRY and read this book as slowly as humanly possible....HA! Yeah right, I'll probably finish it by Monday then cry b/c it's over and then read it again by Wednesday.

Awesome about the interviews/jobs! Have a great weekend

  5. Good luck with your interview!

I picked up a couple of copies of HP at a marvelous bookstore in Sidney, British Columbia on Saturday morning. Love the UK cover art! Of course I still need to read #5 and #6. Guess I'm not a fanatic, but I do enjoy them.

  6. Good luck with the interview!

I was thinking of all the people trying to score a Harry Potter book last night when my wife and I ran into a store and saw a big display with maybe 30 of the books, just sitting there.

I just started reading the first book, something I promised my son I'd do a while back. I like it, but find a more-than-passing similarity to Raold Dahl (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda, The Twits, etc.) in style and theme. Not that that's a bad thing... I love Roald Dahl.

  8. LOL, Funky! I hope you received your book early!

LK, thanks so much. It's been a blast! And thanks for the good luck wishes, too.

Lulu, good choice. It'll leave you breathless!

    Thanks, Nat!

Les, hurry up so we can discuss them. ;)

Johnny, I agree with you, especially in those early books, but I think you'll find that the similarity sort of drifts away in later books. I hope you enjoy the series even a bit as much as I have. :)

    Thanks, Cold!
