Exhausted

I'm done. DONE. Done meaning exhausted, tired, sleepy, weary. Pick an adjective.

I'm taking the weekend (and maybe Monday) off from blogging to nap, eat good food, hang out with the puppy and the boyfriend and the fam, and mayyyybe get some reading done. Between grading papers.

Final thought: 47.7 mpg in the Prius. Hot damn. That car payment doesn't seem so bad now.

Reading:
  • Cat's Eye, by Atwood - moving slow. Not really in the mood.
  • Leaving a Doll's House, by Claire Bloom - my GOD she likes herself MUCH more than I do!

  1. Love that picture. And you've just about convinced me to get a Prius. Too bad they don't make hybrid minivans...

  2. I feel your pain.

    Have a good weekend.

  3. Good god-- my truck (a 1994-- long paid for) gets 12-13 in the city, most of my driving, and 17 on the road. With gas expected to be 4 bucks a gallon this summer, I need to rethink my ride.

Hope you have a nice relaxing weekend.

  5. Hi Andi,
I'm intrigued by your comment about Claire Bloom. I read the book ages ago and remember thinking that she let herself be treated pretty badly by Roth and had low self esteem!

  6. Hey, that's my plan! Have a good rest but don't give up on Cat's Eye.

  7. You know, you might enjoy Atwood's The Edible Woman. Yep, I know how you feel. Except it is not from work, it is from doing some very long overdue yard word that is doing me in (ignore the preposition on the end). So I am off this weekend to go to my sister's and we are going to light up the cauldron and drink all night...that is, if this ole gal can handle it haha.

  8. I took the full week to do that week before last.

    Did you get my email?

  9. Melissa, they're surprisingly roomy! Not minivan roomy, but roomy nonetheless. I had gotten really used to my low-slung sportscar-like Accord, and now I feel like I'm sitting up really high. Which I am, since the seats are set more like that of a minivan. And the cargo space and under-cargo storage are great, too!

    Thanks, LK.

Johnny, I hear ya! I had to rethink my ride, and I was already getting 30 in my Honda. But, I drive about 75 miles per day round-trip. Suuucks.

    Thanks, Nat! Mission accomplished.

Viola, that may be true (haven't gotten very far yet). My initial reaction was to her comments in the introduction. Now that she has way more self-esteem I assume. She's downright conceited!

Thanks, Dale! I won't give up on it for good, but I might have to put it aside for now. This reading slump blows.

I hope you had fun, Fem!!

Got it, Os! I'll get back to you.

    Thanks, Amandaroo!
