Afoot

I have a conference to go to, Children's Literature Association, in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois, so that'll keep me away from the computer next Wednesday, Thursday, and most of Friday. It will be a blast, though. I'll get to hang out with Susan and get my fill of girl time.

Check out the latest "Finicky Reader"--a discussion of what it's REALLY like to be a Children's Literature scholar.

  1. Good luck with the move! I hate doing that. I swear Peter and I will live in our current home until we drop. ;-)

  4. Thanks, Lezlie! I hate moving, too. The only redeeming thing about this move is that I don't actually own any furniture, so it's pretty light. lol

Thanks, Sassy. I expect I'll be carting the books one Prius-load at a time. Ugg! It's times like this that I realize I should use the library more.

Thanks, Stu! I'm hoping for more life solitude in the near'ish future (August?). We'll see how that pans out.

  6. Oh, I love moving. Just kidding. I hate it and I collect more and more each year. Enjoy your new place.

  7. Hope the move goes well for you. I know how much work moving can be. I hope I never have to do it again! I've been pretty absent from blogging lately, and I've missed reading what everyone is up to. But, things have just been really busy for me. Sounds like the same is happening for you right now, as well. Hope things settle down for you as you get into the routine of your classes and get settled in a new place.

  8. Fantastic column Andiroo! I can only imagine the looks you get. I get similar ones when people find out I was an English major. I mostly get, "Well, why aren't you teaching?" Uh, because I don't want to!

  9. Hiya good luck with the move and the conference, remember to wear shoes that are comfortable (or if like me you only really love pretty, uncomfortable shoes take a pair of flats to change into).

  10. Here's to all the good parts of a move - the cleaning out and the cleaning up - and to wishing all the bad parts, like packing the kitchen, would disappear. Best wishes.

  12. I stole wireless access and fell asleep in a parking lot on campus there in 2005. Just thought I'd share that with you...
