Weekly Geeking again!

I've been way far out of the loop, I realize. However, the clouds over my head seem to be dispersing, and I'm back in the bloggy mood! So, how about some geeking?

This week's challenge, a photo meme of sorts:

1. Photos of your favorite author(s).

2. Photo(s) of the author(s) of the book(s) you’re currently reading.

3. Photo(s) of any author(s) you’ve met in person (even very briefly).

We haven't met in person, but this author is one of my favorites that I've interviewed for Estella's Revenge.

4. A youtube of (an) author(s) you’ve heard speak.

Again, a change here. I haven't had the opportunity to hear him speak, but this is the author I'd most like to hear speak!

5. Any photo(s) you may have of yourself with an author.

I've changed this one. This is the first author I e-mailed, and she answered within 15 minutes.

6. A photo of the author of the book you’ve most recently finished.

7. Photos of the hottest author(s)!

And unfortunately I don't have a prize this time around, but if you'd like to venture a guess at my authors above I'll have undying respect for ya. A few gimmes, a few toughies. Good luck!

  1. I'll take a stab at it:

    1. Siri Hustvedt

    2. Paul Auster

    3. David Eggers

    4. I can't see because I'm at work and YouTube is banned.

    5. Grrr. She looks familiar. I keep thinking Anita Diamant?

    6. Duh. Stephenie Meyer

    7. Again, duh. Hugh Laurie

  2. Yay, you're reading Dave Eggers! I enjoyed reading his Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius (and the supplement to that) years back.

    Auster!

Oh dear, Hugh Laurie is indeed hot.

  3. The only one I have a guess for is number 5-- Anita Diament.

  4. Next week's Weekly Geek needs to be the answers to this week's WG!

    I am awful at this.

The only author I recognize is the author of Twilight and I only recognize her because her picture is everywhere right now!

  5. So far I've spotted Siri Hustvedt, David Sedaris (brilliant!), Stephanie Meyer and Hugh Laurie. Two of them look sooo familiar.

  6. Late to the party I know, but my guesses are Paul Auster, Stephanie Meyer and Hugh Laurie. I thought the one that you were reading now might be Andrew Davidson.

  7. I love Paul Auster. He looks so much like a younger Frank Frazetta (have you seen older images of Frank?) it just cracks me up. After Travels in the Scriptorium and New York Stories I really need to pick up more of his stuff. He has been one of the most delightful finds for me in my reading this year.

  8. Alas, I only recognize Stephanie Meyer and House (not his real name, I realize that).

If only you'd put up Tolstoy! ;)

  9. Yayyy! Y'all are so good!

Heather, check, check, check, (David Sedaris), check, check, and CHECK! You are AWESOME! And you knew I'd pick Hugh. Although it was a toss up between him and Tony Bourdain.

Lightheaded, I've said before that I've resisted Eggers for the assholey title (Heartbreaking Work), but I might even give it a go, I'm liking What is the What so much. And yesss, Hugh Laurie is the man!

Good job, Beastmomma! I looooved The Red Tent and told her so.

You got it, Michelle!!!!! You're the only one that guessed Louis correctly. Good job!

LOL, Deb, I'm really bad at it, too. I keep visiting others' blogs and am completely clueless.

Good job, Terri! We also have Paul Auster, Dave Eggers, Louis Theroux, and Anita Diamant.

Almost, Marg! The one I'm reading now is Dave Eggers. Good job!

Carl, I haven't seen a pic of FRank! I would love to because I think Auster is a total hottie. As for Auster's work, you should definitely try Mr. Vertigo. I've got it in a half-finished state right now, but it's really good. And I was watching a Stephen King biography on the Biography channel yesterday, and he was reading Mr. Vertigo!! If that's not a fabulous endorsement I don't know what is!

LOL, Bellezza! If only I could get through Tolstoy!!! But yay for Hugh Laurie, right (House)? He's so cute. :D

  10. LOL You should have used that old picture of Tony, naked, and holding nothing but a bone and a cignarette!

  11. Ooh! I don't think I've seen that pic. I'm off to find it RIGHT NOW!

  12. Oh dear Lord! I found it! His legs are so very very long.

  13. Can't help but notice just how good looking most of these authors are. :)

I still associate Hugh Laurie too much as House, so for a second I was wondering why you listed him as an author. Love that man.
