What? A New Post?

Yes, a new post!

It's been forever, I know. It REALLY feels like forever on my end. Happily I wrapped up all of my semester research paper grading yesterday, and I was completely and utterly worthless for the rest of the day. I have yet to crack a book open because there's always this transition period involved when I try to come off the end of the semester and get back into my reading groove. While it's nice to have the papers graded, the sad truth is that I need to start planning and tweaking for Spring courses. WOOOoo..ooo. *sigh* Makes me tired.

In other news, my mom and I are pathetic when it comes to saving Christmas presents for CHRISTMAS, so she gave me one of my gifts ahead of time. See left. A GORGEOUS crimson Nintendo DS Lite. I'm completely enamored by SIMS2 Castaway, Mystery Case Files: Millionheir, and Brain Age. Even though my reading is lagging, I have plenty of fun to keep me busy thanks to this little piece of heaven.

Like I said, I've missed you all TERRIBLY, and I can't wait to get back into the loop. I'll be 'round to your blog shortly.

  2. Ha! We have the same problem, here. Hubby and I get so excited about what we've bought that we have trouble actually getting to the wrapping bit. We're doing better, this year. So far . . .

Best wishes for future fun with SuperCutie. I don't know how you wish a person dating luck without jinxing them. Break a nail? Good to see you back, Andiloo. :)

  3. My favorite DS game is Professor Layton and the Curious Village. It's a puzzle game where you get to be this cute little British detective. When I first got my DS I played almost straight through that game, it's awesome. I haven't found one I like as much since.

  5. You and your mom are too funny! My hubby's been trying to get me to open one of mine presents, but if I do, I won't have anything to open on Christmas.

  6. Love the holiday banner.

Nice DS. Santa is bringing the kid one. I think I'll be getting some grown-up games for it for me though.

    Fingers crossed ;)

  9. Thanks, Terri!!!

Bookfool, I'm glad there are others in the world WITH NO PATIENCE. lol And break a nail sounds like the perfect non-jink dating good luck wish.

Ooh, thanks for the recommendation, Kim! Professor Layton sounds right up my alley.

    Thank you, Mariel!

Bermudaonion, we agonize over every present we open with "but will we have enough left for Christmas?!" lol

Chris, that's one thing I really like about the DS: big variety of games. My mom's been playing mine. So far she really likes Mystery Case Files: Millionheir, and she's itching to get hold of the sudoku puzzles built into Brain Age.

    Thanks, Lezlie!

Nik, it is red! I have a red cover on my iPod and my Blackberry is red, so I figured I'd continue the theme. hehe

  10. Glad you're back and yes, you and your mom are pathetic but I will admit, the hubby and I are the same way. It has been torture not giving him everything I bought him already!!!

LOVE the ds, it's so purdy!

And, I will keep my fingers, toes and nose hairs crossed for you and the boy. Yipeeeee!!!

  12. I hear you on giving presents early! My boyfriend bought me my present the other night and told me that he bought me something, and then asked me if I wanted it that night! As tempted as I was, I haven't bought his present yet... sooo... haha

    Good luck on your date!

  13. Glad you're finally done with the grading - I have three days left, and then I will have two weeks of glorious freedom! I love my black DS and take it with me everywhere I go. My favorite game so far has been Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. I beat it a few months ago, and have been waiting for a break to dive into one of the sequels.

Good luck with the super cutie! :)

  14. My family was terrible about opening gifts early too. I don't think we ever had anything left for Christms morning. I've been tempted to get a DS. Welcome back from research hell.

  19. Oh that crimson DS is gorgeous, I like Brain Age and Big Brain Academy.

    Supercutie sounds awesome :)

  20. Every time someone mentions the brain training ones though, I find myself wondering if they're trying to subtly hint that I need the help.

  21. Those are good excuses for not reading, Andi! :)

  22. Good to have your back!! It does feel like it's been a long time. My posting has lagged somewhat, too. Work is crazy, but that's retail at Christmas. Thank goodness people still want to buy books in spite of the bleak economy. We really haven't been this busy EVER! When I get irritated with an obnoxious customer, I chant "Job security, job security." :)

Sending good wishes for a fun relationship with SuperCutie!!

  23. Ah, that should read, "Good to have you back."

  24. Thanks, Funky! It's always good to know we're not alone in our patheticness. lol

Me too, Heather! Squeee with me. :)

Kailana, you have willpower of STEEL!

Jessi, my DS has a permanent place in my teacher bag now. My students crack up if they catch me immersed in it. I'm now addicted to Harvest in the Heartland...a FARMING game of all things!

Thanks, Kristy! I highly recommend the DS at this point. Best thing since toast and jelly.

    LOL, Tammy! Hang in there!

Thanks, Jules! I know I'm going to cave and buy Mario. I always loved that game, and I'm sure now would be no different. AND ZELDA!! Gotta have that one back

Thanks, Iliana! I can use all the crossed fingers I can get.

Thanks, Cold! So far, sooo dreamy.

Thanks, Joanne! I need to give Big Brain Academy a go.

LOL, Stu! I need to buckle down. I've only done one day of training and an hour of sudoku.

Thanks, Matt! I thought so! :)

LOL, thanks Les! I'm sooo glad things are busy at work. Like you said, that's better than the alternative!
