Ack!

Whoa! Taking an administrative position just as we're going into a new academic term is much like my first job. I started working in a florist's shop the week of Valentine's Day. Can you imagine? That was the first and last time I've ever been ass-deep in roses. Now I'm just ass-deep in paperwork.

I'm hiring new faculty, orienting them, fielding student grade appeals, etc. Let me get my legs under me, and I'll be back.

See ya when I'm a little more sane and don't have a stress headache!

  2. Good luck! For one of my newspaper internships, I started the Monday after a major tornado went through the small town. My first day, I got put in charge of answering the phones and running the office (because the single office manager was going to be gown for a funeral. It was crazy! My first actual news assignment was to go through the subdivision that was destroyed and take photos for a special edition of the paper. That's the craziest first day of work I've ever had.

  7. Ass-deep in roses sounds nicer than ass-deep in paperwork, I must say. Except for the thorns.

Good luck with everything! We'll be patiently awaiting your return.
