I still haven't gotten to post about all of my favorite things this week, but the frequency of posting is definitely up! I miss y'all...can you tell?
So today I'm back with more favorite things. I love spring and rolling into summer because it's always a good time to refresh the wardrobe. As much as I like the warm tones of autumn and winter, I am the QUEEN of a pop of color. I'm also a big fan of layering, so I try to keep a good mix of layerable tanks and shells in my closet that I can pair with lots of neutrals and textures, jackets and cardigans, for work or home.
I went over to my favorite store in the universe today (Kohl's) to pick out an Easter outfit for Greyson. He ended up with a baby blue sweater vest and some preppy plaid shorts. Mama needed to shop for herself, so you'll find three lovely tops above, and the fourth was a gift from my mom.
I fell in love with the tank on top (colored bands). I always have a thing for corals and blushes, and this top was just so vibrant! I also picked up a grey, crocheted cardigan. Will probably pair those with some jeans and flats for a relaxed Easter egg hunt tomorrow.
There was also a sparkly grey cardigan that I kinda loved that I didn't buy today. If it's still haunting me, I might snatch it up next week. *shopaholic*
Is there any particular season or occasion that gets your shopping mojo going?

Love the stripey top! don't suppose they had it in blue? I, in general, dislike clothes shopping myself so i don't know there's a particular season or occasion that sends me out to buy. I tend to realize i need something, like a couple new bras, then end up buying a top and some jeans too! don't know if that is bad or good. Happy spring!
ReplyDeleteMelanie, they did not have it in blue unfortunately. And I do the shopping in spurts, too. The bras usually kick things off, or when a favorite, trusted sweater gets a hole.
DeleteI am not much of a shopper, but I am in desperate need of some new clothes so I'll have to bite the bullet and get out there. I do love the bright colors their showing this spring.
ReplyDeleteThey're gorgeous, right?! Love love love color. Which is odd since I used to be a devoted fan of black. lol
DeleteI love that tank top too! so cute. and the colors. very cute. I may have to mosey on down to Kohls!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kari! Kohl's is great. Everything was 45-50% off yesterday. Hurrah!
DeleteSo cute! Love the ruffled one in the front. I'm not really much for shopping, anymore, but going to London always seems to set me off. I bought a fluttery fuschia tunic with sequins and a bright, multi-colored pattern at Marks & Spencer and a "Keep Calm & Carry On" t-shirt. I've worn my fuscia shirt 4 times in the 2 weeks since we got home, so hubby commented that we should have bought a couple more. I've made it clear that I'll be happy to return to London, anytime. :)
ReplyDeleteNancy, I think a trip to London would set me off, too! The tunic sounds adorable. I have a couple I've been overlooking, but I'm gonna try to work those into my work outfits soon.
DeleteI love Kohl's too! Very cute tops.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Trisha! Also snuck a pair of earrings into the mix, too. It's been a while since I've splurged on jewelry.
DeleteI like the tank top, too! I really like wearing color in casualwear, but I admit that my work clothes are really not very exciting. I think now that I am graduating and starting afresh, I will be spending some of that signing bonus on a new wardrobe! Hopefully one with lots of fun colors in it, and with an emphasis on layering abilities. That would be ideal. Happy Easter to you!
ReplyDeleteAarti, I've noticed that there are just a few women in my office who wear color. Lots of black floating around the place. I kinda like being the one who sticks out (in a professional way, of course). :D
DeleteEnjoy your upcoming wardrobe shopping!
I'm such a fall/winter person but I shop in every season! I love sweaters and books when it's cold and shirts and sandals in bright colors in warm weather. I love the top with the different shades of pink!
ReplyDeleteI was going to comment on the tops, but got distracted by the new blog background. I love it! It's so cheery!
ReplyDeleteAnd in my world, any day is a good shopping day!
I haven't been able to afford any new clothes in a long time but I love to shop. And, like you, I love wearing bright colors!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely fall. I just love fall clothes and colors. But this spring has been fun for shopping because of my recent weight loss! I love the colors in that first top.
ReplyDeletePurty!!! I love that first tank and may have to pay Kohl's another visit. We were there this weekend picking up K-cups for the Keurig. Didn't even stop to look at any clothes.
ReplyDeleteI'm not really into shopping anymore, but I was in Eddie Bauer a few weeks ago and wound up buying 4 tops. I love the bright, bold colors that are in this season. Definitely my kind of style to wear corals and bright yellows (with stripes!). I could use some new tops for work, so I may head back to both EB and Kohl's and snag a few more goodies. Thanks for the inspiration, Andi. Eeek! I just remembered I need something to wear to a wedding in Nashville in early June. Guess I better get shopping. :)
I have my eye on a coral sundress that I hope to procure soon - I am loving the colors out this spring and summer...all the corals and greens and even some turquoise. turquoise!
ReplyDeleteLove the bright pop of color not only in your wardrobe, but evident in your new background color as well! I guess the bright pop of color I fall for most is in a lip color; my mother feels the reds are too harsh for me, but once in awhile I must turn to them! I love a red lip!
ReplyDeleteNow you have me thinking about changing my blog theme again...kidding. Mostly. XO
Ah! I need to find that tank top. It's lovely! Speaking of bright colors... LOVE the background. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteFun. I refuse to buy anything else until I lose some of this weight!
