Summer Lovin' Read-a-Thon, 2013!

Ok, let me just be honest here. I've never participated (full-on, devoted!) in a Read-a-Thon other than Dewey's 24 Hour Read-a-Thon, but they're so much fun, why not branch out? I had such a wicked good time with Armchair BEA, I'm in the mood to keep the community good times a'rollin'.

So, I'm IN for the 2013 Summer Lovin' Read-a-Thon hosted by Readathon Central and Reviewing Wonderland. This is a week-long event, culminating in a 24 Hour Read-a-Thon. Because it's so spread out, it actually seems like less pressure. It gives me some extra incentive to hunker down with a book at lunchtime or in the evenings. That can't be a bad thing!

There will be Tweeting (#summerlovin13) and giveaways and such, and I hope to, of course, find some new-to-me blogs.

Wanna join me?

  2. This sounds fun! It's the week I will be on vacation -- I'll be doing lots of reading, but I think doing any checking in while I'm away will feeling annoying. I'm really hoping to finish a bunch of books that week though :)

    1. That would be annoying to check in while on vacation, but I can't wait to hear what you get read!

  3. I love week-long read-a-thons! I don't always accomplish as much as I plan to but the fun is all in trying. I'll have to sign up for this one myself :)

  5. Oh, this sounds fun! I love the idea of 24 hours of reading spread out more too, as I rarely manage more than half of Dewey's.

  6. I'm participating in this one, too, and I can't wait! It's my first read-a-thon, and I'm hoping to get through some of the unread books that have been piling up on my shelves.

  7. I've never done a read-a-thon, but it sounds fun! I'm kind of bad about switching books and making myself finish unfinished books sometimes, I would have to buckle down. I wish I could do this one, but my brother is getting married that week and I'll be out of state. I'm sure I'll be reading anyway, but I won't have time to devote to a read-a-thon. Hopefully I can do another one sometime!

  9. Sounds like a great event! Its a tough week for me though, so I don't think I can join in this time around. But I feel like I need another readathon to do, and soon - so I'll have to keep my eyes open (or just declare some random day to be my readathon day) :)
