Personally: Pre-Wedding Freak OUT!

15 Days to Go!

This is my face when invites don't mail right.
This is that post. The one where I've hit the wall with wedding plans and ONE MORE THING might throw me over the edge. The freaking precipice, people. "Fuck that shit" has become a standard response to everything.

  • Overpriced flowers
  • Photography shot lists
  • Dropping my cell phone in the car
It's good for everything, I tell you.

Today was the nail in the proverbial coffin. Scads of invitations that I mailed here in my hometown did not ACTUALLY arrive with the people they were supposed to reach.

Fuck that shit.

So I've been frantically making phone calls, setting up Facebook events to "catch" the stragglers, and generally losing my mind. I have one more Hobby Lobby trip to make. There are a few more craft projects to tackle. I am so ready to be done. I am NOT a born wedding planner.

But on the positive side:
  • David is moving in this weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • TWELVE DAYS TIL I GET TO SEE HEATHER!
  • I will be wearing my grandparents' wedding rings down the aisle
  • Bridal showers are coming up next Wednesday and next Saturday
Fun, wonderful things. If I can just finish the other things.

  2. I am so sorry about the mail snafu. I saw your post on FB. That is why I eloped!
BUT, your wedding will be freakin' fabulous and you won't have to say "fuck that shit" for too much longer. I promise.

  4. It's so stressful now, and I totally feel you -- but it will all be over soon, you will be MARRIED (!), and you won't have to do this ever again. So rock it and roll with it, and know that no matter what? Everything will be fabulous. Because it's your day. And you're getting married. Hang tough! xo

  5. I can't believe it's almost here already! I know it will all work out in the end even if it doesn't feel like it right now.

  6. Ugh, no one tells you what bullshit wedding planning is! Two weeks and you'll be done with it!

  7. Hugs hugs hugs!! 15 days to go (I was a bit shocked when you said two weeks last night!). Everything will be beautiful and amazing and DAVID WILL BE HERE. Don't sweat the too little things--you won't remember them all in the hustle and bustle. Almost there girl!

  8. I remember that stress, and I'm glad I am through with it! Honestly though, you won't remember any of this once the day finally arrives :)

  9. Woot! I am so excited!!! And I was so not kidding about the flowers. I will walk all over Caddo Mills with you pick every single one. :D

  10. You are going to be so happy when the day actually gets here and then all the bad stuff will be a distant memory. And, man, I wish I could go!! )And the worst thing is I am not sure how much internet usage I will have when I am in Florida, seeing as how the rates to use my phone are NUTS, so I might miss stuff. :( )

  11. Ooooh yea! Even though I know you sounded crazy stressed today, I'm still so excited for you! I cannot wait to see pictures, and I know everything will turn out beautifully. Maybe not perfectly but beautifully. :)

  12. No matter what, the most important thing will still go on: you will be married! Best of luck!

  13. Fuck that shit is a perfectly acceptable response to almost any situation, and it's highly satisfying to say. I also found that phrase - well, actually every version of fuck - to be quite helpful while planning my wedding. :) Good luck and everything will be over soon enough.

  15. I love that picture!! Yes "fuck this shit" goes with EVERYTHING. What happened with the invitations?! *sigh* 15 more days! :-)

  16. Hugs. Everything will be fine, NOT PERFECT, so don't stress (too much). Just remember to soak in every minute of the day, because all that other stuff? FTS.

  17. I'm so sorry things have been so stressful, but as you said, "David is moving in this weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" This is the best news and the most important. Hang in there!

  18. I think that is so cool that you are using your grandparents' rings. So weird that so many of your invites went astray - there must be people out there stealing invites just because they've heard how great your wedding is going to be!

  19. Fuck that shit! ..and when you start feeling like a freakout, just queue up an episode of 'Bridezillas' and realize that you're acting way classier and more appropriately than those monsters. :)

  20. Haha. That is exactly my response to wedding things. My husband and I eloped.

I hope everything runs smoothly from now until the big day. :)

  21. Wedding planning is so stressful!! (((((big hugs))))) Hope everything goes smoothly from here on out - and well after, too!

  22. Ugh at all the small things that WILL go wrong anytime something big happens. But you will overcome it and your wedding will be awesome! You are awesome and everyone will have a lovely time celebrating your awesomeness linked to another person's awesomeness.

It's so lovely that you're wearing your grandparents' rings <3 And yay for moving in, seeing friends and showers! I hope things go smoothly, and that you keep thinking of positive things to counter the hiccups!

  23. I am so excited for you! To get married and also to finally meet Heather in person! I too want to meet Heather in person (and you), so I can't wait to see all those instagram selfies :-)

And hey, I think it has been proven that swearing actually does help you release tension, so RELEASE, woman.

  24. Poor you! I will keep my fingers crossed for you that everything will get sorted out.

  25. Just think it could be -20 F which it is here. Just breathe & work thru it and things will come together. Have fun on the Big Day.

  26. Oh wow! That sounds like so much to think about! I'm sure you can do it though and your wedding will be beautiful :)

  27. It's amazing how an event that is supposed to be filled with so much joy can have so much stress attached to it! I'm sure you've already heard this Andi but in the end, it will all turn out perfect! Enjoy the bridal showers, enjoy every minute and like you said, F.T.S. to anything else that can go wrong :)

  28. These days before your big day tend to be stressful, just take some deep breaths and think HONEYMOON!! It's a real pita, this mail snafu but there's always something. All of your hard work will be worth it when your wedding day comes together beautifully as I know it will.
Hang in there and freak out all you need to.
    Yay about David!

  29. This wedding planning stuff sounds so stressful! I'm sorry it's such a pain in the ass. But just think: in a few weeks, it will be over and you'll be MARRIED and have some beautiful memories!

  30. I know I'm late to this post, but just think about how all the stress of the wedding planning will be done soon, and you can just focus on the most important thing, the marriage. But you'll look back on all of it fondly soon enough. :)
