It's Monday! Wrapping Up #24in48 and Up Next...

Whew! That was a fun #24in48 readathon even if I didn't quite make my ultimate goal of 24 hours read this weekend. I had quite a bit of disturbed sleep (thanks, rainstorms and dogs), and Sunday I had the mother of all headaches. However, I did still manage to finish:

  • Two full books (The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry, Chew, volume 3), two partial books (A Great and Terrible Beauty, Relish), and two magazines (hair ones)
  • Pages read: 1,001
  • Hours read: 14
  • Snacks consumed: lots
  • Fun had: SCADS!

Hopefully, I'll be able to finish up A Great and Terrible Beauty today since I only have about 70 pages left. I would've loved to wrap it up last night but I was super tired (before insomnia kicked in at 12:30am). Urrrgh. I haven't decided if I like this one quite as much as The Diviners, which I read earlier this year, but it is definitely entertaining and a fast read.

What's calling to me next? No idea. Decisions, decisions.

  1. Insomnia. Oh how I hate thee. It just kills me how freaking tired I am before bed, and then BAM. Wide awake at all hours of the night.

    1. It suuuuuucks. I figured last night would be another "wake up at 2am and never sleep again" but I was actually down for the count. We all were!

  3. I thought I'd get a lot of reading in on my vacation, but I spent most of the time gazing at the ocean! I may finish Rainbow Rowell's Landline on my flights home today. Then I plan to read Tell the Wolves I'm Home.

Sorry about the insomnia. I've come to rely on Advil PM far too often, I'm afraid.

    1. Nothing wrong with gazing at the ocean! I was so envious when I looked at your pics. Beautiful! I'm getting ready to start Tell the Wolves I'm Home for book club. It's on its way to me right now.

  9. That sounds like you had a great weekend. I heard The Enchanted is pretty good. Les Miserables is such a daunting book, and I think can be read in parts ;)

    1. I'm really looking forward to digging into The Enchanted. Les Mis is totally daunting. I'm dragging my feet on that one.

  10. I really loved The Enchanted...and you can probably read it in a day or two, unlike Les Miserables. Sometimes it's just so satisfying to finish a book. I've had A Great and Terrible Beauty on my TBR for a long time. I wish I had the expanse of time for a readathon, but whenever they come around I always find I either have a deadline or some big event planned. Maybe someday....

    1. I'm glad to hear it! It looks like it'll be a quick read. A GReat and Terrible Beauty turned out to be a great, quick read. I can't wait to read the other two in the series, and they're waiting for me on my Nook. Yay!
