Wrap 'Em Up! And a Buying Jag

Is March reading even worth recapping? It was a month for love. Not for reading. But here we go...

The novels (a 4/5 and a 3/5)...

The graphic novels (a 3/5 and a 4/5)...

But now we get to the really good stuff. The hopeful, "I will get my mojo back with a VENGEANCE," optimism of book buying. Here are my recent purchases.

And those are just the e-books.

STOP JUDGING ME long enough to tell me if you've read and loved any of these. ;)

  3. Like you, I'm a little scared for myself. My library has it's bi-annual book sale tomorrow (the BIG ONE) and with the slump I've been in, this could be bad news! I can't wait for you to get to some of your new purchases :)

  4. Could never judge someone for a book-buying binge (that would be the ultimate "pot calling the kettle black" for me! ;) ). While I haven't read any of these, I do have Miss Buncle on the TBR shelf waiting for me to pick up. Happy reading to you!

  9. Loved, loved, loved The Martian! I ended up staying up way too late to finish it, and most of the time I fall asleep when I try to do that, but not with this book. Also, just snagged a copy of A.J. Fikry after reading one too many great reviews.

    1. So far Beloved is busting my slump, but it's still a slowish read because...Toni Morrison. Hoping the speed picks up! I'm going to read for the #24in48 readathon this weekend to help me along. :)

    1. Aren't they? I'm a bit of a cover snob, though they just happened to be awesome. I swear I didn't buy them for the covers. LOL

  12. This is a safe place, Andi. I'm guessing eight books is 'normal' book buying for most of us. :D (It is for me, the husband HAAAATES going to bookstores with me.)

    1. LMAO, April. I feel like we're in AA. Or BA (bibliophile's anonymous). On the flip side, my husband (so weird calling him that), loves bookstores as much as I do. It is QUITE dangerous.

  14. I really want to read the A.J. Fikry but I am too cheap to pay full price for e-books. :(

  15. No judging here! Maybe some envy though....I hope your April is awesome! :)

  16. I'm not judging; I am thoroughly impressed! I haven't gone on a book buying spree in ever so long. I hope you enjoy them all!

  17. No judging here! I packed 6 books and have only read a few chapters from one. Too busy looking at the gorgeous ocean! However, I can't wait to read The Martian. You and Nancy have me very curious!!

  18. No judging! It's just too easy to buy e-books!

  19. Okay, I am starting to be intrigued by the idea of Saga.... Congratulations on your marriage! Wishing you much happiness.

  20. Hahaha, I'm not judging you! I especially support your acquisition of Miss Buncle's Book. That is a charming book -- very very VERY gentle, and charming.

  21. I have Miss Buncle's book, I haven't read it yet - heard good things about it, though. Four books isn't a bad month, especially not with all you've had going on!!!

  22. Miss Buncle's Book is the only one of your purchases that I've read and I think you'll like it for the sheer fun and clever twists. I've read Miss Buncle Married, also, and it was every bit as fun as the first book.

  23. I bought A.J. Fikry from a Highbridge audiobook sale, so no judging here! Looking forward to starting it soon. I have read Like Trees, Walking and thought it was very good! Also The Family Fang.

  25. Stopping by from Steadfast Reader--
OH MY GOSH!!! I haven't met anyone who has even heard of "Upstairs At The White House" before! I am a big fan of books about presidents and their families and I think this one was the book that started me on that interest many years ago-I still have my original paperback copy and it's held together with rubber bands at this point. I so hope you enjoy it!
I've also read "The Family Fang" and liked it although it's very different from most of the novels I read.

  26. E-books only? ;) When are you doing the post for the paper copies? I do not judge -- I am happy you've got your mojo back!!

  27. I think A.J. Fikry will be just the thing for you! ~Kelly
