Happy new year, friends! I was fast asleep when the new year came in, but it didn't take long for the dogs to wake us up once the fireworks began. Today is a drizzly, potentially icy day in northeast Texas, so we're all kicked back with the heaters on, the Bath and Body Works candles lit, and I have an itch to work on some upcoming blog posts. Later in the day there will be leftover chicken chili, cornbread, the mandatory black-eyed peas, and a visit to my mom's house.
I hope you're having a great day wherever you are, and may your 2015 be blessed.
Happy New Year to you and yours!
ReplyDeleteWe're planning something similar here. John & I have different traditions for New Years, so we do both. He makes black-eyed peas & rice (this year with roast) and I make kielbasa and kraut. Mmm...I can't wait for those smells to hit my nose.
Of course, I'll be spending a lot of time reading on the couch or catching up on my latest Netflix addiction: House of Cards :)
I tried to stay awak but after the hectic Christmas, my hubs and I totally passed out too. Happy 2015 - and here's wishing you all the best :-)
ReplyDeleteI was sleeping too, lol. Wow, aren't we party animals?
ReplyDeleteHave a fantastic 2015, Andi :D
Happy New Year! I'm heading to brunch with friends that I didn't get to see last night (I was home cheersing the ball drop with Nyquil, having made it to just barely 12:00 before falling asleep), and then curling up with my first books of 2015 (as yet to be selected).
ReplyDeleteHere's to an amazing year ahead!
Happy New Year to you and your family, and Happy Reading!
ReplyDeleteHappy new year!! We are just drizzly right now but I wouldn't mind a few flakes a bit later?? Stay warm! And enjoy the lazy day.
ReplyDeleteI was driving home from a friends house at midnight... I passed a car on the road and said "Happy New Year" to its headlights :)
ReplyDeleteJealous of your relaxing day. Both the hubby and I are sick so the day is kind of craptastic. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! I've got black-eyed peas on the stove right now.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! We took the Tornado to Chuck E. Cheese and then J, Paul and I sat around the kitchen and drank sparking apple cider and chatted until the ball dropped. We're big party animals over here! I fully intend to spend the first day of 2015 in sweat pants! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Andi!
ReplyDeleteJust jumping over to your blog for the first time today from Angela's Anxious Life. :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't make it to midnight either. I had a good friend over and by 10 PM we were nodding off on my couch so we celebrated at 11 PM and then she went home. I must be getting old if I can't even make it to midnight once a year!

Those reading resolution seem doable and reasonable. That's road I'm going this year as well. Big resolutions turn it nothing for me everytime, so I4m going to keep it simple. Happy reading Andi!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't sleep until 1 or so because of the fireworks going on all around. It's been a quiet day today and I love it. Bring on the books and coffee! :) Happy 2015!
ReplyDeleteI'm making fried pork, black eyed peas, mashed potatoes and cornbread! Umm
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, dear Andi!
ReplyDeleteI’m glad I wasn’t the only one asleep when the New Year hit (and my dogs also woke us up with the fireworks).
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Andi! It's 6:30pm and I have yet to decide what to do today. I hope this isn't indicative of how slackery I'm going to be all year! ;)
ReplyDeleteI've been burning my Bath and Bodyworks Balsam candle like a vandal all break! Hubby and I stayed up until midnight, drank a glass (well, two) of sparkling wine, and then conked out. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Andi!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Andi! Sounds like you brought in the New Year in style. I'm hoping that in this new year, I'll be a better blog follower and commenter! Happy reading and writing!
ReplyDeleteHope you could squeeze in a nap to catch up on some sleep, Andi! We had dinner with friends and made it home long before midnight, but the fireworks kept us awake until about 12:30. My poor Annie-Dog really suffered, but now all is well and she doesn't have to worry until July 4th. ;)
ReplyDeleteHere's to a wonderful New Year, hopefully filled with lots of good books, love and laughter. Cheers!
Happy New Year, Andi! I slept while the ball dropped, too.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! I've missed you on Book Tube ;)
ReplyDeleteI kinda of love New Years Day because it really is a day just to lounge.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Andi! (a little late, but here's hoping it's still and always happy ;-))
