#ReadMyOwnDamnBooks Wrap-Up and Link-Up!

I'm going off-script from #AMonthofFaves2016 today in order to wrap up this year-long push to #ReadMyOwnDamnBooks! I'm glad that so many of you joined me, even though I found myself tapping out mid-year. That is, I never officially stopped, I've read a lot of my own damn books this year, but bouts of slumpiness were doing me no favors and I stopped pushing so hard.

Moody reading funks aside, I still managed to read 28 of my own books this year out of the 53 I've read so far. Not a bad percentage, eh?

I've been asked if I'll continue #ReadMyOwnDamnBooks into 2017, and I think I will. Yes, yes I do. I'll be more diligent about posting monthly link-ups, and I'll continue to whittle away at my own TBR.

How'd you do?

Link up your end-of-year tally below! I'll post 2017 sign-ups on January 1!

  1. Hope you've been having a wonderful holiday, Andi! Good for you for doing so well on your challenge. I should do something like this in 2017 as my shelves are overflowing with TBR books!

    1. Thank you, Iliana! It has been a wonderful holiday season and a MUCH NEEDED break! I hope you'll join us for this VERY loosely organized challenge in 2017! lol

  2. Oh, I've done a terrible job at this this year. Only 1/5 of the books I read were my own...and yet I bought so many more...!

  4. I need to make this more of a project for next year and whittle away at my TBR!

  5. Hooray for 28! I marked 71 of the 144 books I read as RMODB, so less than half, as I fell prey to library books and ARCs (which I didn't consider mine). I was also very bad and bought WAY more books than I should have this year. I've given up on trying to stop though...

I'm definitely continuing next year! I'll write about it soon :D

    1. THAT'S AMAZING! Seriously, even if it's not half, I'm falling over dead at the number of books you read in general! CONGRATS!

  6. I haven't decided yet whether I want to do this challenge again in 2017, but I'm really glad I did it this past year. I only read 10 books for #RMODB, but that's still more than if I hadn't consciously made the effort to pull titles from my own shelves.

    1. And that's what matters! Every book is progress. Hope to see you back!

  7. I made zero effort to read my own books. Nada...zip...zilch I've been thinking of making this a goal for 2017, maybe at least one book a month from the shelves. Would an unread older ARC count as my books? I have too many too list!! I'm super proud of you!

    1. You can count WHATEVER you want as your own damn books. I consider anything that's been sitting on my TBR my own damn. lol

  8. Well let's just hope we all stay focused and reading in the new year. This has been such a hard year on my reading. I've read far less, and (this is more awesome than anything) turned more to comedy than any other genre. Here's to surviving 2017!

    1. I completely feel you, Nikki. It's been a very touch and go reading year for me, too, so reading ANYTHING in 2017 will be a feat! <3

  9. I had a goal of 80 of my own books and read 77! Yay! Thanks for the push to make some progress on my TBR this year and to read some of these lovely books that I keep around the house. :)

  11. I had really hoped to knock off about 40 of the books on my own shelves but only managed to read 21 (and three of those were plays so I feel like they are kind of cheating!). Nevertheless, I'm in again for 2017 because it's a good reminder to give those books some love...and make sure I haven't just spent money on something I'm having to dust for years.
