Monday Reading | Bout of Books

Bout of Books 18
It's Bout of Books time! I have a stack:

And I'll have some free time this week with kiddo headed back to school. Just last night I finished my first book of the year, The Shepherd's Crown by Terry Pratchett, so I think I'll go for Princess Jellyfish today for something quick as a companion to the other book I'm reading, Hope in the Dark by Rebecca Solnit.

What are you reading?

  1. Love Iris Murdoch. Just threw her The Sea, the Sea on my reread in 2017 list.

So far, I'm working on Colm Toibin's 'Brooklyn' and Vesna Goldsworthy's 'Gorsky.' I was looking for 'The Grapes of Wrath,' but got distracted.

    1. It's scandalous how long Murdoch has been on my TBR unread. This is the year! I loved East of Eden but haven't tried Grapes yet. I know all about distraction. :)

    1. Me too! Wish me luck FINALLY reading this one. It's probably been on my stacks for 15 years.

  3. I have a few books going all at the same time, which is very rare for me.

Born a Crime by Trevor Noah (audio)
Coming Home by Rosamune Pilcher (Nook)
A Vintage Affair by Isabel Wolff (print)

I'm off to join my hubby in the living room. We both want to read and enjoy a cocktail. Have a good night, Andi!

    1. I have multiple books on the go, too. Two is usually my max, but I'm taking my time with a couple of them, dipping in and out to read essays and whatnot. Enjoy your books and relaxation time, Les!

  6. Yay! I'm glad you're joining in the fun! I hope you've had a productive week! :D Good luck with your goals. Also, I need to read Mistborn. My friend has been trying to be me to read it for YEARS. I keep telling her someday.
