The Best Site Ever

Found this a few days ago, and it's the BEST SITE EVER. Why do I never think of kitschy brilliance like this?

Which Bad Book Are YOUUUU?

take the WHAT BAD BOOK ARE YOU test.

and go to mewing.net. not as good as reading a good book, but way better than a bad one.

Note: Very fitting. I loathe Ayn Rand. I tried reading The Fountainhead several times, and always petered out by page 50.

Stolen from Heather who stole it from Fence.

AIDS Day

I was so busy yesterday that I didn't have a chance to honor World AIDS Day, and wanted to take a second to do that now.

Since I was in middle school or so I've had a great interest in AIDS awareness and education because I've lost dear friends to the disease, and I have friends now who are battling with it. I won't go into details, and I won't lecture, I'll just give you the link to a wonderful group:

I've had the silver bracelet with the gold AIDS ribbon for about 7 years now. One day it will be inscribed with the names of three people who have been great influences on my life. I love all three of you dearly.

I'm not dead...and I don't suck....

To answer Os's last comment, "No, I did not throw up."

My presentation Tuesday night went swimmingly. I didn't even get terribly nervous, which is a first in my 25 years. I used to be a gawd-awful public speaker, but it's amazing how teaching helps curb that fear.

Talked to the prof Wednesday morning about the presentation and she thought it was great...AND...HIGHLY PUBLISHABLE! Woot, woot! That excites me to no end. And blows me out of the water. I thought I sucked. Who knew (no comments on the sucking or blowing, Os and Todd).

I have another big-ass (in the 20ish page range) paper to start this weekend. I have to have a 7-8 page conference version of it to present next week. I think. There will be two weeks of presentations, but I have a sneaking suspicion I'll be assigned the first week. We shall see.

And the template is dead for now. It might come back. I haven't decided. Or maybe I'll beg Heather to make me one because she's the shizzle when it comes to templates.
