#AMonthofFaves - 2017 Favorites Edition

#AMonthofFaves [The 2017 Favorites Edition]– eg. to eat, drink, wear, smell, see, do, enjoy, best purchases, most used gift received etc, favorite concert, outdoor activity, place visited, most squee worthy moment of the year.

Here we are for A Month of Faves! Without skipping a beat, let's get right to the faves!

Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4 for Nintendo DS! I looooove thisss game! I'm sure no one is surprise because Harry Potter. I have very rarely played through a game in its entirity, but I am well on the way with this one. I've completed story mode (50%), and now I'm going back through to gather all the wizard's hats and goodies in free play.

Ever since I started in on traveler's notebooks, they have become my favorite planning system because they are completely customizable. I purchased a Chic Sparrow Deluxe Creme Brulee and haven't looked back!

Dream and Anchor notebook is the black one!

My favorite traveler's notebook inserts, printable and a great value, are from PrintablePineapple on Etsy.

TNs can be really expensive, and I started with a fabric one that got me SOOOO hooked and which I still love. It was from Dream and Anchor

My favorite place to be most of the time is my home office. It's a good thing since I spend at least six hours a day here! Not only do I work from home, this is where the Etsy magic happens, and it's just generally cozy and my favorite.

When I'm chillin' in my workspace, you're likely to find me writing Women in Science postcards to my Sentators and Congressman.

Finally, this year has been amazing for spending time with my favorite friends. Not only did I get to attend Book Nerd Camp in Tennessee with the likes of Heather, Amanda, Katie, and Carrie, I also got to have some quality time with Amanda here in Texas recently. AND, I met my single longest-time internet friend (known her since I was 16) this year!

(CLOSED) Dewey's Mini Challenge: 10 Words for 10 Years

In the spirit of six-word memoirs or six-word stories, I thought the Dewey's Read-a-Thon 10-YEAR ANNIVERSARY a perfect opportunity to offer a ten-word celebration to show our appreciation to Dewey for starting this thing so many years ago and to our book community for making it such a monumental event and such a great time.

And, I should mention that there is incentive. The winner of this mini-challenge: the most innovative, colorful, and celebratory in ten words will win a book of his or her choice of up to $15 from the Book DepositoryI'll announce the winner here. #RIPXII Peril of the Group Read: SLADE HOUSE by David Mitchell

Thank you for joining us! We'd love to know what you thought of SLADE HOUSE. These questions are just a jumping-off point if you're interested in sharing your answers. Link up down below!
1. Slade House is broken up into five parts and is narrated by five characters. Which one did you like best and why?
2. In my opinion, this is not a traditional"scary" book. Each new guest in the house reveals more about Slade House and the Grayer twins. Did you find any of it unsettling?
3. This quote, discuss: “Grief is an amputation, but hope is incurable hemophilia: you bleed and bleed and bleed.”
4. Norah and Jonah...sympathetic or nah?
5. We didn't learn much about what Norah and Jonah do between each nine–year cycle, but we do know that they have a lot of freedom and many resources at their disposal. What would you do with a gifted existence like this one?
6. The ending. What did you think?
